Foulridge was the destination for the 1st XI on Saturday. Owing to bank holiday commitments and going to the test match at Headingley, the team included four second teamers.

The hosts, who languish at the foot of the table, won the toss and decided to field first. The Shires Laners took full advantage of this decision and walloped 252-6 in their 40 overs. Andrew Foulds led the way with a superb 109. He had partnerships of 95 for the second wicket with Dominic Kay who made 61. Then 75 with Gareth Wooler, for the third, who made 16, and 61 with Jonathan Coward, for the fourth, who made 16. The Noyna side replied with 126 all out as Sam Arkwright, skipper for the day, taking 3-14 off his 10 overs, Andrew 3-44 and Hammaad Hussain 2-8.

The victory sees us move up to 7th in the table.

The 2nd team didn’t have a game because Foulridge II pulled out just before the season started. The upshot of that is Riddlesden are now 9 points in front of us and can’t be caught. Glusburn have also gone above us by 2 points. Hopefully the last two games will see us get back to second place.

This Saturday the 1st team are at home to Wilsden with AO joinery and H2K Ltd sponsoring the game. The 2nd team are away at Wilsden II.
