The curtain came down on our Craven & District Cricket League membership with victories for both teams.
The 1st XI were away at Hepworth & Idle, and batting first rattled up 227-8. Tom Bailey 89 and skipper Morgan Davies 42 put on 83 for the fourth wicket. Earlier opener Moshin Saghir made 32 and Andrew Foulds 28. The homesides reply was knocked back as they lost four wickets with the score on 67. They recovered to finish on 155. Tom Robinson finished with 5-37 and Andrew Foulds 3-55. Andrew finishes second in both the league batting and bowling averages, and should be a strong contender for all-rounder of the year.
At Shires Lane, Hepworth & Idle II won the toss and decided to bat. Only two players reached double figures as they were hustled out for 81 in the 32nd over. Casper Bean took 5-26 and Adam Harding 3-6. Gareth Wooler and Casper opened with 51 for the 1st wicket where the latter perished for 25. We lost another wicket at 54 but that weas the end of their success as we galloped home by 8 wickets in the 16th over with Gareth being 48no.
The club would like to thank all the sponsors for their help over the season and the spectators who turned up every week during the season.
So, it is onwards and upwards as we look forward to life in the Nidderdale League next season.
