Our sides games this week were affected by Covid and rain.
Early last week we found out that our opponents Sutton were affected by Covid and had decided to ask us to cancel the games – which we had no problem in accepting. The League decided that both our games could be rearranged at a suitable date, as per ECB direction.
Because there was no play in Division Three every team received one point. However, Embsay pointed out to the League that this would be an unfair advantage to us, if we were to win, over Riddlesden. We want to win the League fairly in the field of play. The League took onboard our observations and we all get a point.
In the 1st XI’s division at least two games took place, so the League is allowing us to rearrange with Sutton.
The Wynn Cup tie on Sunday against Barrowford was washed out after 14 overs with us on 62-2. Again, as per League rules, any game not passing 20 overs can be wiped out and the game rearranged. It was agreed that the game will take place at Shires Lane on Sunday 11th July with a 1pm start.
On the junior front games have also been affected by Covid. This week on the 7th the u15s play Bradford & Bingley at home. The following night the u11s are at Earby whilst on the 10th the u13s play at Skipton.
Senior cricket this Saturday, the 11th, sees the 1st XI away at Haworth and the 2nd XI at home to Haworth II with the game sponsored by Ann & Peter Horner.
