Northern Powergrid are removing overhead powerlines and poles
The reason for the Eastby road closures are due to Northern Powergrid removing 8km of overhead lines and 109 poles at four locations across the Yorkshire Dales National Park during 2021/22.
Eastby is the second of 4 schemes and will require Barden Road to be closed on two occasions. The first closure is from Monday 6 September to Friday 15 October 2021 and the second one from Tuesday 4 January to Friday 25 February 2022. In between these times, Northern Powergrid will be working on private land in the area.
Throughout both road closures, a signposted diversion will be in place through Embsay, the A59 Skipton by-pass/Harrogate Road, the B6160 and Barden Road.
There are no plans to turn off anyone’s power and access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.
More details of the work can be accessed below and Northern Powergrid can be contacted by calling 0800 011 3332 or email generalenquiries@northernpowergrid.com The network operator is also available on Facebook and Twitter.
