The COP 28 climate summit is currently taking place in Dubai.

Over 2 weeks representatives of 199 parties will be ironing out a series of agreements aimed at slowing down the rate of global warming.

Key Points

1.Climate Finance
Aid for the poorest and most vulnerable countries pay for the effects of climate change. Ultimately this helps our own food supply.

2.Phasing out of fossil fuels

3.Global stocktake
..an inventory of how well countries are achieving against the pledges they made.

An alternative present idea that keeps on growing

Why not sponsor a fruit tree as an eco gift this xmas and help to expand the orchard at Holme Grown Community Garden, Eastby for future apple picking/pressing days? Visit your tree on volunteer days.

Most fruit trees are between £25-£40. Come along to plant it in the new year on a special designated planting day.
