The goal of circular fashion is to keep resources in use for as long as possible and maximise the life span of clothes.

Materials are continuously cycled back into the economy reducing the need for new resources . This is good for the environment, saving energy and helping to combat climate change. Re-use, Repair, Remake and Recycle are the key words.

The Fairtrade Group are holding their annual Clothes Swishing event on the evening of Friday October 18th in the Methodist Chapel. This has always proved to be hugely successful and well supported. It’s a chance to socialise with friends, enjoy some Fairtrade refreshments and take home some ’new to you’ clothes. Good quality clothes are donated  and anything left at the end of the evening is donated to Oxfam. 

As we come to the end of summer and plan our winter outfits please consider donating any unwanted items to this event. Men’s, women’s and children’s clothes are needed as well any accessories..bags, shoes and scarves. If you are having a sort out we would be very grateful if you could save them and donate nearer the time to the Fairtrade Group.

We are also in need of a couple of clothes rails for the event. If you have one to sell/donate or just to lend out please get in touch. it would be a great help.
