Find out about the upcoming changes to local government in North Yorkshire

North Yorkshire County Council are holding a series of virtual roadshows for residents to learn more about the work that is taking place to create the new North Yorkshire authority. As you are aware the current county, district and borough councils in North Yorkshire are going to be replaced by a single Council in April 2023. The events have come about following the Town and Parish Council webinars held late last year. We have had a number of requests from parish councils to hold something similar for residents in their parish to make them aware of the changes.
The roadshow will virtually visit towns across North Yorkshire next month. They will be held via Teams Live between 6:30 – 8pm with a panel comprising Chief Executives from the locality areas and senior officials from NYCC who will give a presentation and answer questions about the changes. The event for Craven will take place as follows:
- April 4th – Skipton and Ripon (Panel members: Paul Shevlin, Craven District Council Chief Executive; Wallace Sampson, Harrogate Borough Council Chief Executive and Neil Irving from NYCC)
More information on how to join can be found on the NYCC website https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/new-council-virtual-roadshows
