We have been very privileged this week to have had the opportunity to live zoom Antarctica, visiting Rothera, Britain’s largest research station.

The children were involved in a question and answer session with Winter Station Leader, Matthew Phillips. We were very nervous, keeping our fingers crossed for a good internet connection as a heavy storm hit Antarctica that morning. All went well and the children were able to see the harsh weather conditions that the team have to face on a daily basis.  We found out about the day to day life on a research station, the weather, wildlife, how food and supplies are delivered, how people keep warm and the effect global warming is having on one of the most beautiful places in the world.
