The Annual Family Fete, planned for Saturday 17th July this year, is rapidly becoming a firm favourite with local people.
First begun in 2018 and then held again in 2019 alongside the Horticultural Show it was a wonderful day out for all the family, held on local fields near the Embsay with Eastby Village Institute. Disrupted, like so many events in 2020, it is hoped that this years event of 2021 will be even more special.
A dedicated group (The Fete Committee) have continued working behind the scenes planning a varied and exciting day with music, stalls, food and drink and fun activities for children and adults. Most of the amenities and stalls will be run by local businesses so it’s a good chance to support them after a very challenging year. Stalls are £5 each to be collected on the day.
Starting at 12noon and continuing until 7pm it promises to be a welcoming and memorable occasion for all generations and a chance to get together once again with neighbours and friends. Entry will be free but all donations gratefully accepted will go towards next years event.
Running over the same weekend will be the Art and Craft Exhibition to be held in the Village Institute giving people a chance to display the results of their creativity during the past year.
The safety of the village residents is always uppermost in their minds and the Organising Group will be constantly assessing the Covid risk and watching current advice on gathering together. Guidance will be in place to keep us all safe. Regular updates will be made as we get closer to the date.
Looking forward to seeing a really good turn out for this years Family Fete!
