There’s less than one month to go until our VE Day 80 commemorations in Embsay with Eastby. We hope there will be singing, dancing and lots of fun, just like the millions who celebrated in the streets 80 years ago on 8 May 1945 upon hearing the news that the Second World War had ended in Europe.

We’re hoping that many children and adults will come along dressed as 1940’s girls and boys, land girls, factory workers, pilots, home guards………… and take part in the 1940s Fashion Parade at 3pm.

There will be live music from talented Embsay musicians and hopefully a Lindy Hop demonstration, delicious home made cakes and scones to tempt you and more.
