The heavy rain during the week put paid to any attempts to get the ground ready for cricket on Saturday when we should have entertained Ingrow at Shires Lane. It is a groundsman’s worst nightmare when he has his hands tied in such a situation. The 1stXI remain 7th in their division.
The 2ndXI travelled to Cowling 2nds and some play was possible. The homesters won the toss and elected to bat. They put on 105 for the first wicket. The finished on 166, which saw all ten wickets fall for just 61 runs. Dominic Kay finished with 4-33 and Josh Robinson 3-46. Our reply had reached 47-3 in the 11th over when play stopped. The 2nds are second the table 5 points adrift of Riddlesden who managed to finish their game.
This Saturday the 1st XI are at Cowling, whilst the 2nds are at home to Oakworth 2nd. The match is sponsored by Primeur Ltd and Embsay and Eastby Post.
We are now able to serve teas following advice from the ECB.
