
Match reports:
On the 24th May the u15s entertained Oxenhope u15s in the second round of the Raleigh Hargreaves Memorial Cup and saw them off by 60 runs. We batted first and made 95-6 in our overs with Leighton Meeking scoring 35 (ret) and George Keane 20. Then Hammaad Hussain took 5-6 in his allotted 4 overs, Leighton 3-1 from 8 balls and Adam Harding 2-21.
The 3 other scheduled junior games were called off due to the weather.
Last Saturday the 1st XI were at home to Cowling and appeared to have done the hard work by restricting them to 106-9 in their 40 overs with Andrew Foulds taking 3-26 and Ben Stockton 3-23. However, after a reasonable start we were dismissed for just 90 With Thomas Bailey making 25 and Moshin Saghir 22. We drop to fourth in the League.
The 2nd XI were at Oakworth where they won the toss and asked the Cure Hill side to bat first. Solid bowling saw them back in the hut for 107 with Henry Ellison taking 5-26 and Hammaad Hussain 2-19. We galloped home by 7 wickets in the 30th over with Caspar Bean making 50 – caught going for the winning run. Dominic Kay hit a belligerent 43. Hammaad came in with the scores level, played the first ball them smashed a huge six to see us take the points. We are three points clear of Riddlesden in the League.
