Embsay Cricket Club – Match Reports

A vibrant green graphic featuring the emblem of Embsay Cricket Club, celebrating 125 years from 1901 to 2026, alongside a photo of the cricket club's well-maintained grounds and building.

The First team’s game against Pateley Bridge was a victim of the rain, with no play possible. We stay in 10th place in the table. Next Saturday we travel to Masham.

The Second team travelled to Crakehall and in a game between the two promoted sides from last season Division Six, came away defeated. They won the toss and asked us to bat first, and we could only muster 115 all out. Only three batters reached double figures, Caspar Bean 33, Thomas Mountain 27 and Gareth Wooler 25. We managed to capture four wickets as they reached 58. From there the fifth pair knocked of the runs in 33.5 overs. Matt Buckmaster took 2 for 10 and Gareth 2 for 29. We slip to 8th in the table.

We entertain Lofthouse and Middlesmoor 1st XI next Saturday at the Billy Bob’s Ice Cream Parlour ground. Match sponsors are John Mason Printers and Andrew Bingham.
