First Team
The 1st XI’s trip to Darley proved to be a challenging afternoon, with the side having just one regular bowler available. Despite the difficult circumstances, Sam Arkwright led the bowling effort with figures of 3 for 63, while Thomas Mountain chipped in with 2 for 43. There were encouraging contributions with the bat as Harry West top- scored with 47, Arkers added a solid 32, and Sam Keane remained unbeaten on 23, showing resilience in the chase. Although the result didn’t go our way, the team picked up six valuable league points and remains in 9th place, with plenty still to play for as the season continues.

Second Team
Spennithorne and Harmaby 1 st XI were the visitors to the Robinson Memorial ground, sponsored by Billy Bob’s Ice Cream Parlour. They won the toss and elected to bat. They plundered 269 for 4 in the overs Gareth Sharpe, Ben Jolly, Chris Cummings and Zack Sharpe took a wicket apiece. It was going to take something special to overtake their core – and that is what we got. Gareth top scored with 90 from 84 balls (11 4’s and 2 6’s). Caspar Bean made 39no, new recruit David Dawson scored 35, Chris 32, Nathan Barrett 26 and Hayden Barrett 20 no as we overtook their score with three balls to spare. We get 17 points and remain eighth in the table.

Next Saturday the 1 st team are at home to Thornton Watlass whilst the 2nd Team travel to Ripon. Match sponsors are A O Joinery and Ellison Construction.
