First Eleven
Just as we thought we had turned a corner and found some form; the wheels unfortunately came of the wagon. Visiting Whixley, looking for our third consecutive win, we lost the toss and they batted first. They opened with 91 for the first wicket and after that we found wickets hard to come by. They smashed our attack to all parts of the ground and closed on 277 for 6. Haroon Ali was the best bowler with 3 for 52. Mo Saghir took 2 for 62 and Jack Kitching 1 for 48. In reply our batting fell apart and we were all out for just 99. Nathan Barrett top scored with 29, and our total included 20 extras. We remain in tenth place.
Second Eleven
The second eleven received twenty points when Bishop Monkton conceded the game. We move up to fifth place.
This week the first eleven are away to Knaresborough Forest whilst the second elevens of both clubs meet at Shires Lane. The match balls are sponsored by The Elm Tree Inn and John Bowers Consultancy.
