Environment Group – Top Tip

Recycling opportunity coming soon

6th and 7th August at the Methodist Chapel

Waste Not Wednesday 3-6pm
Take Away Thursday    3-6pm

Our parents and grandparents would have been delighted that we have come full circle in our approach to repairing, recycling and prolonging the life of consumer items. For them it was born out of necessity. For us it’s an effort to save the world’s resources and lower our carbon footprint.

It’s very heartening to see projects springing up around the country with that end in mind. Locally “Share Skipton” are doing a fantastic job setting up “The Library of Things” and the newly formed Repair Shop and refill centre.

Here in Embsay and Eastby there is an opportunity through the summer to do our bit for this cause and have some fun at the same time. Please start saving good unwanted items with a view to donating them and taking away something else you may need or like.

With the children about to start their summer holidays why not sort out a few good condition games and toys to exchange, ending up with something new to play with!
