Share Skipton is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation formed in 2023. The group has a shared vision to encourage the sharing of resources, thereby reducing waste and consumption and saving the community money. “Reduce, reuse and recycle” is at the heart of what they do.

Their Library of Things finally opened in July and the shop is based on Newmarket Street in the old SCAD shop. Go online to shareskipton.org and you can find out what items are available to borrow and how much it costs to borrow them and also how to donate good unwanted items.

They also plan to start running repair cafes where the community can bring things to repair and learn how to repair things themselves.

It really is a brilliant idea and I urge you to take a look. How many of us have gadgets and tools in our garages that may only be used a few times a year and sometimes not at all. What a great way to help each other and the environment.
