Film Night – ‘The Bishop’s Wife’

It’s that time again and it’s very nearly Christmas!

To get everyone in the spirit of things the film this month is ”The Bishop’s wife” that absolutely marvellous 1947 film based on a 1928 novella by Robert Nathan. It stars Cary Grant, Loretta Young and David Niven.

It won an Oscar for best sound recording and was nominated for 4 more. Dudley, played by Cary Grant, is a heavenly being sent down to help a struggling Bishop. However, things don’t quite work out the way the Bishop hoped. It’s a heart-warming film full of cheer and we recommend you make time in your busy schedules for an evening of warmth and good will.

They don’t make them like this anymore!

Tuesday 21st December, The Village Institute, 7:30 start.

See you there, the film committee.
