There have been further requests to North Yorkshire Police from the Parish Council for an update into the replacement of a named PCSO for Embsay with Eastby. The response is as follows:

With regards to replacing PCSO Rachel Wood –
“As soon as we have someone in post to cover Embsay we will let you know – in the interim we will allocate any enquiries to the first available officer in Skipton. It’s not ideal however if we name someone and they are not available due to other commitments – we may miss something that needs attention sooner rather than later – this solution will hopefully ensure that service is maintained in the interim”

With regards to contacting Skipton Police for non-emergency issues –
“As a Service we are encouraging the public to report non emergency issues via our online reporting forms via the Force Website https://www.northyorkshire.police.uk/  – this will ensure that any reports are captured and recorded properly and allocated to the correct department.
Using the SNA email to report incidents isn’t the most efficient way to do so as often the email inbox isn’t monitored 24/7 and we would hate to miss something that may need a timely response.”

Reporting anti-social behaviour offers the following options.

If a particular issue of concern isn’t covered in this process, then there is the option to use the ‘Contact us about something else‘ form on the Tell Us About page.

– Calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or visiting their website at – www.crimestoppers-uk.org. Crimestoppers is a 100% anonymous service. It also includes ‘Fearless’ which is a youth service dedicated to 11 to 17 year olds.

In light of the recent rise in anti-social behaviour in the parish it is important to report all incidents to the Police. If nothing else this will help to make the case for replacing our named PCSO as soon as possible.
