An accident at the Hawks View construction site prompted a visit by a Yorkshire Air Ambulance at lunchtime today. The injured individual was transferred to hospital by road ambulance – we all wish him a full and speedy recovery.

The helicopter, G-YAAA, that landed on the outfield of Embsay Cricket Club only became operational 2 days ago and was flown by Chief Pilot Owen McTeggart accompanied by a team of 3 paramedics. The new state of the art helicopter (the first of 2 replacements) is smoother and lighter than its predecessor which allows the craft to stay airborne for longer.

Yorkshire Air Ambulance is an independent charity providing a lifesaving rapid response emergency service to 5 million people across the whole of Yorkshire. To keep their air ambulance helicopters maintained and in the air, they need to raise £19,000 every single day. To find out more about their work and how to make a donation you can visit the charity’s website here.
