Yorkshire Water Road Works

YORKSHIRE WATER

Upcoming investigation work will be carried out in Embsay from 17 August 2026. This is to see if part of the area will be suitable for one of our upcoming projects, which would help to improve the health of local watercourses by reducing discharges from storm overflows.

To keep everyone safe during these investigations, we will need to have traffic management in place. Below I’ve included details of what traffic management will be in place on which streets in the area, when we plan for it to take place, and expected durations:

You may notice temporary spray paint markings on roads, footways, and verges, which will be part of our utility mapping activities. These are survey markings used to identify and record existing underground services and are temporary in nature.

To allow the surveys to be undertaken safely and to maintain access through the work areas, ‘no parking’ cones may also be placed on sections of the highway whilst surveys are being carried out to restrict parking so that our surveys can be carried out as quickly as possible.
