Annual Dinner & Awards
The Club held their dinner at Herriots on Friday night. After an excellent meal the sixty attendees were treated to a comical quiz by Paul Wormald. Chairman Trevor Coe then thanked all the various people who had helped the Club over the year. This was followed by the annual awards for season 2024.
The awards were as follows:
1st XI Sportsman award for best sporting team in Division Two
and for the third year running the 2nd XI took the Sportsman award in Division Six
1st XI batting – Mo Saghir
1st XI bowling – Haroon Ali
1st XI fielding – Ben Keane
1st XI merit trophy – Haroon Ali
2nd XI batting – Gareth Wooler
2nd XI bowling – Jago Bean
2nd XI fielding – Josh Baines
2nd XI merit trophy – Caspar Bean
Sam Arkwright was rewarded with a hat-trick ball
Sammy Mawson fielding trophy – Ben Keane
Phillip Fearnley batting trophy – Josh Robinson for his 162 not out v Whixley
Josh Bell bowling trophy – Struan Mackenzie for his 7 for 23 v Thornton Watless
1st XI player of the year – Sam Arkwright
2nd XI player of the year – Gareth Wooler
Edgar Greenwood Trophy for most improved junior – Ben Jolly
Chris Davies Merit Trophy – Hayden Barrett (U13’s captain)
Poser of the Year – Morgan Davies, Sam Arkwright and Scott Robinson
Chairman’s Trophy – Mark Walters for his work with the junior teams
Maureen Robinson Memorial Trophy – for services to the Club – Zoe Bosher
The 2025 season starts on Saturday 26th April
