Embsay CC has a number of members on our war memorial from both world wars. There is a cracking site – Craven’s part in the great war – which gives details of soldiers killed in action. I wonder if anyone knows of a site that covers Craven in the second world war? We have four members who lost their lives in the conflict and I would be interested to find out more about these brave people.

The people are P H Edmonds; A Houston; W Mattock. The fourth person is B (Bobby) Marshall. I know about him from his daughter Ann Horner who lives in the village.
