A very interesting enterprise has recently been brought to my attention and I’d like to share it with you. There is a place in Holbeck, Leeds called SEAGULL PAINT STORE which rescues paint from landfill or incineration. It is checked and reprocessed and readied to use. Apparently it has been working for 20 plus years to influence social mobility, inclusion and help mitigate climate change. They turn unwanted material into profit which provides jobs, training and opportunities.

Through collection from tips and donations they save on average 350,000 litres of paint a year. Off the shelf paint can be bought from £1 a litre and bespoke colours mixed and matched from £4.80 a litre.
