Yorkshire Water Crane Delivery

Yorkshire Water have circulated the following notice regarding the delivery of a large crane to Embsay Reservoir on September 1st.

Crane Delivery at Embsay

You may be aware that we are currently doing some work to upgrade the Water Treatment Works (WTW) at Embsay. As part of this work, we need to take delivery of a large crane.
We have a movement order agreed by the council. The crane will be delivered to site on 3 large wagons, using the route in the attached plan via A59 – Low Lane – Shires Lane -East Lane – Dalacres Drive – West Lane and then onto Pasture Road to the WTW.

This will take place on the 1st September 2022 from 9am we would ask you to park off the route where possible and be mindful of where you may be parking if it will restrict road use. Our contractor may call on you and ask you to move your vehicle if the delivery cannot get passed. The crane will start the journey through the village at 9am. This will give early commuters enough time to get going before we start. If you meet the delivery on route, we ask that you leave as much room as possible, and you may be asked to wait. I understand this may be inconvenient and add time to journeys. Your co-operation is greatly appreciated., with help from yourselves we can complete this delivery quickly and efficiently.

The crane will remain onsite until our work is finished, which will we expect to be late 2023 to early 2024. When I have further details on the crane removal, I will contact you again.
